Daryl Hatton hasn't added a story.

One thing you'd hate your parents passing down? Bad teeth!

My daughter McKenna suffers from the genetic challenges I've passed on to her.

Specifically, in my family, we are missing one or both top side lateral incisor teeth.

In the photo above on the left, you can see that McKenna still has a baby tooth on the right side of her mouth. The second adult incisor tooth never developed. In the retouched photo on the right, this is what we hope we can accomplish!

This isn't the first step

We already invested significantly in McKenna's dental care with braces to bring her teeth into alignment and ensure her mouth didn't shift into the gap from the missing tooth. It has been an expensive journey but well worth it.

Now the time has come to replace the baby tooth with an implant.

The goal is of this campaign is to raise the $5,000 we need to cover the insurance co-pay on her treatment.

Please give McKenna the gift of a beautiful smile and make a contribution to help us finish this dental care journey.

She says she is also looking forward to biting into corn-on-the-cob and apples again (which she can't with her baby tooth).

Every contribution gets us one step closer!

.

With gratitude! Her loving dad, Daryl

Give the gift of a better smile!

Everyone loves a great smile but sadly, some of us don't love the one we have.

Your friend would like to make theirs better and needs your help.

They are using crowd-financing to help them pay for their dental implant surgery.

Through this campaign, you can give them the gift of a better smile by making a financial contribution.

. .

Funds are safely sent directly to the our clinic on their behalf and will only be used for their dental care.

If they don't reach their campaign goal, you will not be charged anything, so there is no risk in making a contribution.

Financial services are provided by Shared Practices Group

What is crowd-financing?

Crowd-financing is similar to crowdfunding used by sites like GoFundMe but has significant advantages when used for paying for dental care procedures.

  • Money collected is paid directly to the dental care provider on the patient's behalf and not touched by the patient. This ensure the funds can only be used to pay for dental care.
  • The patient's privacy is better protected as they are not required to share their campaign publicly on social media.
  • The program requires the patient to raise enough funds to complete the procedure. If not enough contributions are collected, and the goal is not reached, all funds are returned to the donors. This reduces the risk of trying this innovative technique for raising funds as the patient will receive their surgery or the donors get all their money back.

Do I get a tax receipt?

While giving to a campaign is a charitable act, as it is paid to a business, it is not eligible for a tax receipt.

How long does the crowd-financing campaign run?

The campaign runs until a deadline. This is usually 14 days from its launch. If the campaign reaches its goal prior to the deadline, the campaign is closed and the funds are used to pay for the treatment.

What happens if the campaign doesn't reach the goal?

If the campaign does not reach the goal in the timeframe allocated, all payments are cancelled and returned to the donors without cost.

How Single Dental Implants Work

A dental implant is a titanium screw that serves as the foundation to replace a tooth or teeth.

There are 3 parts to a dental implant:

  • Implant post (or body) | This serves as the foundation. The post is placed in the jaw and serves as the anchor.
  • Abutment | This piece joins the implant post to the crown.
  • Crown | This is the visible part in your smile. Crowns can also be an implant bridge over multiple dental implants.
